midnight blue & midnight premieres!

black belt - vintage // black platform pumps - jeffrey campbell
printed aztec dress - forever 21

Just a compiled post of a work outfit and what my friends and I did for the midnight premiere of HP7 part 2! We played 'dress-up' (I decided to be really 80's), made our own version of Butterbeer (did you know that they put real butter in butterbeer....? we didn't do that because A) it was about 100 degrees and B) you had to melt the butter...which is kind of gross), and painted our nails. My house is, obviously, a Hufflepuff, so that's the theme I decided to go with for my nails.

Oh, and the butterbeer was really good in a grossly sweet sickening way! Did anyone else watch the movie yet? I obviously prefer the books, but the movies are great to watch as well. I kind of felt like it was rushed, though. It's so hard trying to discuss the movie without spoiling it for people who haven't read the books or watched it yet!

until next time!

sweltering

cotton spandex jersey crop tee in coral - american apparel // high-waisted jean shorts - american apparel
belt - vintage // pumps - urban outfitters // aztec print bag - urban outfitters

It's too hot to think about anything. Except food. I love food. It's so hot I don't want to think about anything anymore. Another work outfit. Of course, it would only make sense, since I'm there about....95% of the time. I love crop tops, especially with high-waisted things. And this crop top doesn't make me feel self conscious. Which means I get to stuff my face while wearing it. YAY.

Thank goodness I'm blessed with the modern-day convenience of air conditioning. Of course, the sweltering sidewalks and subway stations don't help. Especially since the train takes forever to come and I feel like I'm choking and I'm sweating so much that it looked like I took a dip in the pool. I hope everyone stays cool wherever you are! I'm just looking forward to the fall...

until next time!

rooftop inclinations

bluestone sateen sleeveless crop button up -- american apparel // vintage black belt

 artichoke pizza.

The whole black + pastels color combination is becoming one of my favorites lately. I apologize for the graininess of the outfit photos. The lighting in my room is odd, so my photos always come out slightly terrible. Or maybe that's just an excuse for me to get a new camera. Saving up money is hard. Especially when there's so much good food to be eaten! Did I ever mention how much I love my Jeffrey Campbell shoes? They're my second pair of heels, but they are my favoritefavoritefavorite because 1) they're comfortable, and 2) I never tripped in these shoes. Ever.

My friends and I went tanning and swimming at her sister's rooftop pool. It's definitely a lot hotter when you're fourteen stories up in the air. We spent the day baking in the sun, swimming, fawning over Annie Lebovitz's photography (which my friend bought for $15 on the way to the pool) and eatingeatingeating.

As you can tell, I couldn't resist anything that contains sugar. And oh my goodness. Artichoke pizza is one of my favorite things in the world. You don't understand. As much as I hate all those weird veggies (brussel sprouts, artichoke, etc), artichoke spinach is heaven. It's huge. It's thick. It's creamy. It's like artichoke and spinach dip baked onto a pizza. I'm salivating just thinking about it.

I hope everyone's enjoying their summer! I know I am. It seems like it's passing by so quickly. I'm definitely not looking forward to the school year. I'm such a lazy soul. And if it's not summer for you...well...you'll get your chance!

until next time!

fort totten.

brown tank top - Forever 21 // pink button up tank top - H&M
brown belt - Hollister Co. // floral shorts - ?? //  brown cutout flats - H&M

Another biking adventure! I think this is my favorite summer biking outfit so far. It's floral and the colors are happy and I'm wearing printed shorts! My favorite! My friends and I biked around the neighborhood and ate dinner. Afterwards, we decided to go on another adventure to Fort Totten. During the day, it's beautiful, especially the docks that surround the former army installation.

However, when my friends and I decided to venture here...well, the sun was setting rapidly and the old abandoned buildings spooked us. We're convinced it's haunted, especially since I convinced my friends to show me the run down buildings. We saw some shadows of people that didn't existed, and got paranoid as we heard some bushes rustling and branches breaking. I dared them to run up and touch the front door of a particular abandoned building, which was lit by a park light. However, right as they stepped up on the porch, the light went out! We immediately left the park, running to the safety of my friend's car.

I think I'll be back there soon this summer. Hopefully, I'll be a little more brave next time. Does anyone have any spooky stories that they'd like to share?

until next time!

fireworks.

striped tank top - American Apparel // highwaisted shorts - vintage Ralph Lauren // red belt - Lacoste
brown cutout flats - H&M // printed knit bag - Urban Outfitters

So for the 4th of July, my family and I spent the day barbequing, drinking carbonated beverages, and playing poker. I'm pretty sure everyone has a small idea of what the 4th of July is in America, but for those who don't, it's basically the day the U.S declared their independence from the Mother Land (Great Britain).

From the dismal stack of chips pictured above, I would like to tell you that I am a decent poker player! I just have terrible luck. It was extremely hot today. So hot. And humid. Swarms of mosquitoes came and feasted on my hemoglobin today. I hope they're satisfied. I'm attempting not to itch my plethora of bites. There's even one right near my armpit that I'm afraid to scratch, just so people won't assume my pits are itchy. Because they're not.

I wanted to wear something really simple because of the weather and the occasion (a simple comfy family gathering), but to keep in theme with the whole patriotic thing, I had to wear red, white, and blue. In a really understated way so people didn't think I was completely bonkers to be dressed up in GO AMERICA YEAH garb. Not that I don't love America. I do. And I really lovelovelove that bag. My new bag that I got on sale at Urban Outfitters for $15! The best part is that it fits my camera. I think that's the Number One specification that I look for in a bag -- will it fit my camera? It has a cute little handle AND a strap so I can hold it like a brief case or carry it like a messenger bag. I've got the best of both worlds!

We watched the fireworks, as tradition calls for. It was spectacular. I tried not to take too many photos, because it takes away from really just watching the fireworks display. I felt like a little kid again. But to be honest...DisneyWorld's fireworks are awesome. Sorry, NYC. Better luck next time! I hope everyone had a great day!

until next time!
